The Breckenridge Cowboys extended their win streak to four games with their third straight shutout, spoiling the Roseau Rams’ Homecoming with a 26-0 win Friday night.

The Cowboys put a touchdown on the board in each quarter. Gavin Pederson snagged a seven-yard scoring toss from Collin Roberts with 2:48 left in the first quarter. The extra point from Bailey Evans made it a 7-0 game.

Roberts threw another TD pass opening half, this one a 24-yard lob to the end zone into the hands of Griffin Bosse to make it a 13-0 game at the half.

The next two scores of the night for the Cowboys came on the ground on one-yard gains. Pederson went in for six for the second time on the night and James Mertes capped off the night with a fourth-quarter TD.

The Rams drove down the field and nearly scored the first touchdown on the Cowboy defense since Sept. 10. With less than 20 seconds remaining, a nine-yard pass to the end zone on fourth down was dropped by a Roseau receiver to preserve the streak.

Breckenridge is 4-1 and hosts West Central Area at 6 p.m. Friday.
