Post 53 rallies to beat Barnesville in extra innings

Breckenridge needed three extra innings to squeak by for a 5-4 home victory over Barnesville on Wednesday in 10 innings.
Jayce Werner delivered the walk-off single to score Jared Aamold.
Neither team scored until the sixth inning when Barnesville put all four of their runs on the board.
Post 53 tacked on two runs in each of the final two innings of regulation. In the sixth inning, Brayden Wahl brought in a run with a sacrifice fly and Emmit Vig reached home on a passed ball.
Adam Ohm scored in the seventh off a wild pitch and Vig plated the tying run with a sacrifice fly.
Jace Hegge picked up the win for Breckenridge, pitching all but one out of the three extra innings. He walked one batter while not allowing any hits or runs.
Connor Twidwell tossed five scoreless innings before being pulled with two outs in the sixth during Post 153’s four-run rally. Vig also saw time on the hill for one and two-thirds.
The Wednesday game was the first of their three-day home stretch with a game every day. Today they take on Ada-Borup at 6:30 p.m. and Pelican Rapids comes to town for a 7 p.m. battle tomorrow.
