The Breckenridge track teams took part in the Subsection 22 Track Meet at Wadena-Deer Creek High School on Thursday.
The top five finishers in individual events move on along with the top two relays. Competitors could also move on by reaching a qualifying mark outside of the top five.
Eleven individuals and two relays moved on between the two Breckenridge teams.
Grace Conzemius led the Cowgirls by tying for first place in high jump with a leap of 4-feet-10-inches and taking second in the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:02.26. She also took part in the 4×100 and 4×200 relays, which both moved on to the section meet.
Gavin Johnson was the top finisher for the Cowboys, winning the shot put with a toss of 50-feet-2.5-inches. He also took second in discus at 126-feet-3-inches.
A relay team could move on by being a wild card as the top two relays in the section that didn’t finish in the top two move on as well.
The Cowgirls 4×800 team, which consisted of Taylor Bommersbach, Emily Gowin, Rachel Gowin and Madison Rabbithead, is still waiting to find out if they’re the wild card in the section after taking third place in 10:59.31.
The Section 6A Meet will take place at noon on Thursday in Fergus Falls.
