
Wahpeton eighth grader Scout Woods won the shot put on Saturday at the Hillsboro-Central Valley Invitational.
Woods threw the shot 34 feet, 10 inches for her first individual track varsity win.
Also for the Lady Huskies, Sydney Mahrer was fourth in the 800 meter run and Quinn Bassingthwaite fourth in the pole vault. Kilee Bladow added a fifth place finish in the high jump.
The Huskies were led by Jacob Bartels, who finished third in the 110 meter hurdles and 300 meter hurdles. The 4×100 relay of Nathan Worrel, Blake Schafer, Beau Arenstein and Brady Owns as third and Luke Baumgartner fifth in the 1,600 meter run.
Wahpeton hosts the Kiwanis Invitational today at NDSCS at 3 p.m.
