Noel Eckroth was named Teacher of the Year last week for the Wahpeton public school district.

Eckroth is a social studies teacher at the Wahpeton Middle School.

Eckroth won the award from a group of eight nominated. The others were Wahpeton Elementary counselor Julie Carlson, Middle School physical education teacher Wayne Hample, sixth grade English and Social Studies teacher Connie Pederson, second grade teacher JaKayla Smith, high school resource room teacher Samantha Vetter and high school English teacher Heather Woods.

Also honored was Les Bresden as Certified Employee of the Year.
