Both North Dakota State and North Dakota earned spots in the FCS playoffs on Sunday as the 16-team field was announced.

The Bison, who lost 27-17 to South Dakota State on Saturday, were not one of the top four seeds. NDSU hosts Eastern Washington at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Fargodome in the first round.

The Fighting Hawks also were not seeded and host Missouri State at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Alerus Center.

Both NDSU and UND are in the bottom half of the bracket and could meet in the semifinals if they reach that point.

Two other Missouri Valley Football Conference also made the playoffs. No. 1 overall seed SDSU hosts Holy Cross Saturday and Southern Illinois plays at Weber State.
