The top two Class B teams in the state will be squaring off in the Region 1 girls championship on Thursday. Central Cass and Kindred advanced to the title game on Tuesday with victories in the semifinal round.

Top-ranked Central Cass held off a late run from Wyndmere-Lidgerwood for a 49-38 victory. The Warbirds trailed the Squirrels by five heading into the final quarter.

Jaylin Cotton and Morgan Lee led Central Cass with 14 and 12 points, respectively.

Drew Frolek had a game-high 15 points to lead Wyndmere-Lidgerwood.

Kindred dismantled Northern Cass in the following semifinal game, jumping out to a 31-0 lead on their way to an 81-37 victory.

Abby Duchsherer scored 17 of her game-high 21 points in the opening half. She was joined in double figures by Kacie Burner and Terryn Johnson with 18 apiece and Charli McQuillan with 10 off the bench.

Tip-off for the region championship is at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25 at North Dakota State College of Science. The pregame show begins on KBMW at 6:15.
