The Richland County Sheriff’s Office responded to an accident with injuries at the intersection of County Road 10 and County Road 8 on Tuesday night.

A vehicle driven by Nicholas Heitkamp disregarded a stop sign and was struck by a vehicle driven by Heidi Henager.

Henegar and two juvenile passengers were taken to St. Francis Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Heitkamp and his passenger were treated by Breckenridge Ambulance at the scene and released.

All involved in the accident were wearing seat belts.

The Sheriff’s Department said alcohol played a factor in the accident and charges are pending against Heitkamp for alcohol related offenses.

Both vehicles were considered total losses.
