Breckenridge School Superintendent Diane Cordes announced on Thursday that the Breckenridge Public School systems would begin distance learning from Monday, Nov. 23 through Friday, Dec. 4.

The distance learning covers all grades preschool through 12th grade.

Cordes said, that with the recommendation of a state epidemiologist, Wilkin County Public Health and in consultation with the school’s Incident Command Team, the decision was made to go to distance learning for two week. There will be no students in school during that time.

Cordes said that today will be a teaching planning day to prepare for the transition. The school will reevaluate the situation around COVID-19 community spread the week of November 30 and the hope is to return to in-person learning on Monday, December 7.
