The North Border Eagles limited the Wyndmere-Lidgerwood offense to just 192 yards and one touchdown in a 24-6 win in a N.D. 9-man state playoff game Saturday in Pembina, N.D.

The Eagles, now 8-1 on the season, advance to play at quarterfinal game next Saturday at overall No. 2 LaMoure-Litchville-Marion.

The Warbirds see their season end at 7-3. The six points were the second-fewest scored by Wyndmere-Lidgerwood this season.

Wyndmere-Lidgerwood and North Border played a defensive first half with North Border scoring the game’s lone touchdown of the half on a 6-yard run with 18 seconds left for a 6-0 lead.

The Eagles added a touchdown in the third quarter before the Warbirds put together their best drive of the game, finishing it with a 13-yard touchdown run by Andrew Arth with 11:51 to play, cutting North Border’s lead to 12-6.

North Border was able to tack on two more scores in the final 10 minutes of the game to pull away.
