High school football practice started across North Dakota on Monday, one of four sports to begin practicing for the 2020 season.

Football was joined by boys tennis, Class A girls golf and cross country. Volleyball and girls swimming and diving begin August 17.

The high school football season begins August 21 with 9-man play. All other classes are eligible to start the following week. Wahpeton begins its season on August 28 at Milbank, S.D.

 

SUMMIT LEAGUE MOVES FALL SPORTS TO SPRING

The Summit League’s fall sports became the latest casualty of Covid 19 when the conference announced Monday that all regular season and championship events for the sports have been postponed.

The league said that volleyball, men’s and women’s soccer and men’s and women’s cross country will hopefully be played in the spring, with details to be announced today.

 

TWINS SNAP LOSING SKID BEHIND ROSARIO’S GRAND SLAM

The Minnesota Twins ended their four-game losing streak with one swing of the bat.

Eddie Rosario hit a grand slam in the fourth inning as the Twins beat Milwaukee 4-2 on Monday.

While Rosario provided the offense, Randy Dobnak was sharp again on the mound, Dobnak gave up four hits and one run in five innings to improve to 3-1 on the season.

Game two of the 3-game series will be tonight on KBMW with the pregame show starting at 6:30 p.m. and the first pitch set for 7:10 p.m.
